Aquatics
Aquatic Physical Therapy is now offered at BVPT!
Aquatic therapy is a wonderful treatment option in conjunction with land physical therapy or on its own for a more comfortable treatment environment. Patients of all ages and abilities, as well as most diagnosis are appropriate for this treatment option.
Patient’s feedback about aquatic physical therapy:
“I can do all of my exercises without having any pain when I’m in the water!”
“I was so afraid my knee was going to give out on me when I tried to walk without my crutches after surgery. Practicing in the water helped me overcome my fear!”
“That was a much harder workout than I thought it was going to be! The water really provides a lot of resistance.”
“I am sore after aquatic therapy, but it’s a good muscle soreness. I really don’t have any pain in my joint itself after treatment.”
So why Aquatic Therapy?
- Decreased pain and swelling
- Increased range of motion
- Introduction of advanced activities earlier in rehabilitation
- Decreased impact with plyometric activities
- Increased lean muscle mass
- Increased joint health

So, if you are inquiring or looking for the best physical therapy unit in the Kansas City area, I can truly recommend Blue Valley Physical Therapy. The greatest compliment I heard over and over from other patients was that they did not want to leave or end their therapy. That shows you how much the therapists make you feel a part of their family. - Brian
