Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy is a term with many definitions depending upon what setting it is used in. At Blue Valley Physical Therapy our approach to manual therapy is the hands on mobilization technique that accesses the quality of joint motion. This joint motion called arthokinematics, is imperative for normal functioning of the body.
Manual therapy can also be used to access the quality of soft tissue such as scar tissue, muscles, tendons, or ligaments. If a patient is found to have limitation of the joints or soft tissue, it can cause pain and dysfunction. Blue Valley Physical Therapy will work to restore this basic function to decrease your pain.
Most orthopedic conditions can benefit from manual therapy.
Manual Therapy has been used in the following diagnosis
- Back and Neck pain
- Post fracture sites
- Scar adhesions
- Plantar fasciitis
- Rotator Cuff Strains
- Impingement syndromes
- Hand injuries

So, if you are inquiring or looking for the best physical therapy unit in the Kansas City area, I can truly recommend Blue Valley Physical Therapy. The greatest compliment I heard over and over from other patients was that they did not want to leave or end their therapy. That shows you how much the therapists make you feel a part of their family. - Brian
